Stamp duty rates sourced from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Punjab Board of Revenue, Sindh Board of Revenue, and provincial Finance Acts (effective FY 2025-26).
Stamp duty is a provincial tax levied on property transfer documents under the Stamp Act 1899 as adapted by each province. Rates are calculated on the higher of the DC (Deputy Commissioner) rate or declared sale value.
Punjab: Stamp Duty 3% + Corporation Fee 1% + PLRA Fee. Sindh: Stamp Duty 2% + CVT 2%. KPK: Stamp Duty 3% + CVT 1%. Islamabad: Stamp Duty 1% (reduced from 4% under Finance Act 2025) + CVT 2%. Balochistan: Stamp Duty 3% + CVT 1%.
FBR Advance Tax under Section 236K is paid by the buyer and is adjustable against the annual income tax return. Capital Value Tax (CVT) is levied under the Capital Value Tax Act 2006.
