Bangladesh is a member of WIPO (since 1985), the Paris Convention (since 1991), and the Berne Convention (since 1999). Bangladesh is also a signatory to the TRIPS Agreement (WTO).
VAT at 15% is applied on all government fees per prevailing NBR rules. Fees are paid to DPDT (for patents, designs, trademarks) or the Copyright Office. Online filing is available via DPDT under WIPO's IPAS platform (since 2025).
